Local knowledge.
Businesses understand the rhythm of the village. Residents and community groups know its people. Bringing those perspectives together helps shape ideas that belong here.
OUR STORY / WOODHALL SPA BUSINESS FORUM EVENTS
We are the local not-for-profit events group bringing businesses, community groups and neighbours around a shared ambition: a thriving Woodhall Spa.

A SHARED STARTING POINT
A village’s character lives in its people — the shopkeeper who remembers you, the familiar face at a community event, the neighbour who offers a hand.
Our story began at The Hive on Coronation Road on 1 October 2026. David Charles, Emma Wright and Sharron Tonge came together to form a not-for-profit events association, with a shared purpose: to benefit local businesses, the village as a whole and its community.
Our first event is The Spirit of Christmas, 4–6 December 2026. It gives us a shared starting point: a chance for local shops, stallholders, performers and volunteers to help bring the village to life.
The Forum’s ambition continues beyond that weekend. We are developing ideas for family heritage activities and a 2027 community programme: a children’s storybook, a proposed Secret Six trail and a St George’s Day celebration. Explore what we are working towards.

A LONG TRADITION OF WELCOMING VISITORS
Woodhall Spa’s story began with an unexpected discovery. A search for coal uncovered mineral-rich water; a bath house followed in 1834 and the Victoria Hotel in 1839. Visitors helped shape the village that grew around them.
Today, independent shops, places to eat, leafy avenues and local attractions give people reasons to linger. The Cottage Museum preserves the village’s story, while the Kinema in the Woods and Jubilee Park are part of its visitor appeal.
Our events build on that welcome. We want a visit for one special occasion to become a chance to discover much more of Woodhall Spa.
BUSINESSES + COMMUNITY + IDEAS
There is more than one way to help an event happen.
Businesses understand the rhythm of the village. Residents and community groups know its people. Bringing those perspectives together helps shape ideas that belong here.
A performance, a stall, an introduction, an offer of time or help spreading the word can all play a part. Tell us what you would like to offer and we’ll discuss where it could fit.
Our constitution puts the benefit to local businesses, the whole village and the community at the centre of our work. Events and heritage activities help us put that purpose into practice, with any surplus reinvested in it.
GET TO KNOW THE FORUM
Woodhall Spa Business Forum Events is the group. The Spirit of Christmas is our first event. This website introduces the group, its people and its wider purpose, as well as the occasions we organise.
David Charles is Chair, Emma Wright from Lily’s Clothing and Jake’s Menswear is Secretary, and Sharron Tonge from The Sweet Emporium is Treasurer. Meet the committee and find out about their local connections.
We welcome local businesses, community organisations and individual volunteers. You can also register an act or apply for a Christmas stall. Our Get involved page helps you choose the right form.
Our constitution describes us as a not-for-profit unincorporated association. Our funds and any surplus must support our purpose, rather than being distributed as profits to members. Our committee roles are unpaid. We are not a registered charity.
Tell us the idea, who it would welcome and how it could benefit the village. Use the business and volunteer registration form or contact David. An idea starts a conversation; future events will be announced when confirmed.
